Invasion of the Hyksos is the 24th map in Luxor: Amun Rising and Luxor Amun Rising HD. It also appears in The Wrath of Set.
Design[]
The design of the map in Luxor AR features a beige granite background, with one path being light blue with an off-white border, and the other path being off-white with a light blue border. The left-hand side of the map has four soldiers, most likely the Hyksos. They are wearing white and blue clothes, and are holding a sickle and a brown shield. There is also a row of brown hieroglyphics on the inside of the path. The center highlights a row of brown hieroglyphics, right next to the other row of hieroglyphics on the left side. The right-hand side of the map features a row of brown hieroglyphics on the inside of the path, just like in the center and left side of the map. There are also four Hyksos soldiers, and they are wearing white and blue clothes, and are holding a sickle and a brown shield. The bottom of the map has a row of soldiers, with six being soldiers ready to throw a spear, and two of them are soldiers with a bow-and-arrow and riding a horse drawn carriage. There is one soldier on a carriage at the left end of the row, with three spear-holding soldiers next to them, and another carriage-drawn soldier after them, and three more spear-holding soldiers after the second carriage-drawn soldier.
The design of the map in Luxor AR HD now has a darker beige granite background, with a noticeable brick pattern, and one path is white and glossy, with a golden border, and the other path is a deep blue color and glossy, with a golden border. The brown hieroglyphics at the top of the map at the inside of the paths are gone, and the beginning of the paths now have golden scarabs as covers.
Difficulty Analysis[]
Invasion of the Hyksos, as is the case with most of the end game maps in each Luxor game, is generally considered one of the most difficult maps in the series and the hardest in Luxor: Amun Rising due to the one path almost completely blocking the other path in the danger zone, as well as the tight room available for when the spheres are entering the pyramids. The spheres travel rather quickly for a map with 2 paths, but also come with less like-colored groups.
