Luxor 5th Passage (also known as Luxor 5) is the fifth mainline game of the Luxor series, succeeding Luxor: Quest for the Afterlife. It re-introduces the regular gameplay of traveling between stages from Luxor 2, with it's map staying in one picture, making it a first since Luxor AR. The game also marked Luxor's 5th anniversary.

Power-Ups

Only Fireball, Lightning Ball, Slow, Stop, Wild Ball, Reverse, Speed Shot, Color Bomb, Scorpion, Net, and Sorter all return in this game. The only returning power-up from the other game is:

  • Pharaoh's Daggers: Replaces the two slots for the shooter with unlimited daggers. Only present during bonus stages. Returning from Luxor 2.

Introduced power-ups are:

  • Spiked Ball / Spiker: Shoots a ball comprised of 8 spike shards that can be detonated manually.
  • Double Shooter: For a short period of time, the shooter can grow bigger to fire 2 spheres at the same time. Also appears when the player had achieved an accuracy that's higher than 85% in regular levels, during bonus stages.
  • Tri-Shot / Lead Barrage: Launches 3 lead balls that destroy the oncoming spheres. 3 arrows are given for the player to hint where these balls are about to be fired.
  • Black Hole: Plants a black hole at the closest point to the Pyramid that destroys spheres that pass through and then disappears.

Stages

PLOT: Set, the master of darkness and chaos, failed to permanently destroy his brother, Osiris. Calm and prosperity came as Isis and Osiris united the 2 Lands of Upper and Lower Egypt. Out of this unity, Horus the falcon was born; the great protector, warrior and master of the sky. The power to rule passed to Horus. Lying in wait, Set seized this moment of transition as the opportunity to attack. His minions flooded the kingdom and the Egyptians were overwhelmed by the chaos that ensued. Horus stood steadfast to repel the attackers. You are the one of the hand-picked elite chosen to stand with Horus to rid the kingdom of this menace once and for all, restoring peace to the Two Lands! take the falcon wing bestowed to you, and let the horde face the heart of a champion!
